Registering the copyright to your book is extremely important. Furthermore, a copyright registration gives you the exclusive right to reproduce and copy the work. The copyright registration makes you the only person who can distribute your work for commercial purposes. Your copyright registration tells the world that you own the work and all the rights that come with that ownership. Also, if the copyright to your work is registered within three months of the date of publication of your work, can give you additional valuable rights such as the right to make the infringer pay your attorney’s fees and in certain cases pay you three times the amount of regular damages for the infringement.
